Dikasuna Nature Conservation Park

Dikasuna Nature Conservation Park’s development is one of the first projects that has been undertaken since 2019 to achieve our goal. All the materials used in the construction of the park have been voluntarily donated by the Kaupa family, together with the willingness and passion of the local community, and landscape designer and Founder Kalale Kaupa; walkways, footbridge, nursery house, bird aviary, cuscus house, benches along the creek for bird watching, and all the creative ideas and developments have now turned DNC Park into an eco-tourism spot.

Visitors and tourists may tour the park's woods, rivers, and valleys to observe and capture our natural flora, animals, and more. When they return, visitors may sample the regional cuisine prepared with naturally grown products that have just been plucked fresh from our gardens.

Cultural Conservation

Preserving our cultural values Sharing our culture

We work towards preserving cultural norms and values through stories, videos, and short stories. In the long-term planning and development of Dikasuna Nature Conservation Inc., the Suai Museum will be built to keep all our valuable traditional customs, ceremonial objects, and traditional Bilas alive for generations to come.

Festivals and cultural shows will be held on occasions showcasing traditional singing, dancing, and cultural ceremonies, all of which will be performed by our local communities for our visitors to witness and experience the spirit of our ancestors.

We hope to share our unique culture and traditions with our visitors at the Dikasuna Nature Conservation Park where we hold annual cultural festivals, shows, and workshops.

Throughout these events, visitors will have the privilege of observing and, on occasion, participating in a series of treasured traditional ceremonies and cultural rituals. A notable example of this sacred practice is the passage of manhood and womanhood, carried out through the revered Haus-Man and Haus-Meri rituals. These sacred rites of passage serve as an instrumental moment in the lives of modern Simbu girls and boys, ushering them into the realms of adulthood at our cultural center.

We extend our gratitude for your consideration and look forward to warmly welcoming you to the cultural festivities at Dikasuna Nature Conservation Park.
